ETP Meets Botswana Minister of International Relations

Evanston Technology Partners (ETP) reached a significant diplomatic milestone in December 2025 when Founder and CEO Emmanuel Jackson and the ETP team paid a courtesy call on **Hon. Dr. Phenyo Butale**, Botswana's Minister of International Relations.

The meeting, which took place in Gaborone, focused on ETP's plans to invest in Botswana's technology sector — specifically in AI, data technology, cybersecurity, and infrastructure development.

**From Diamond Mines to Diamond Minds**

The discussions centered on ETP's flagship Africa initiative: "From Diamond Mines to Diamond Minds" — a program designed to transform Botswana's greatest resource from minerals to human capital by training 10,000 young Batswana in advanced technology skills over the next decade.

Botswana, long known as the "Miracle of Africa" for its diamond-driven economic growth, is now positioning itself as a regional technology hub. ETP's partnership with the Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub, formalized through an MOU signed earlier in December 2025, is a cornerstone of this transformation.

**A Strategic Investment**

Minister Butale expressed strong support for ETP's investment plans, recognizing the potential for technology training and outsourcing to create a new generation of high-value employment in Botswana.

"The Minister was very receptive to our vision," Jackson said. "Botswana has the infrastructure, the governance, and the ambition to become Africa's technology outsourcing capital. We want to be the company that makes that happen."

The meeting with the Minister of International Relations signals the highest level of government support for ETP's Botswana operations — a critical foundation for the long-term success of the Diamond Minds initiative.
